Automatically optimizes your PC's power consumption by using a more effective power save mode. You will be able to see your savings in real-time translated to more environmental terms such as how many trees and gallons of oil you have saved.
Use your webcam for video monitoring. You can choose the cooling of the captures. The captures can be saved on the computer and sent to a ftp server, you will then be able to see it via a web site automaticaly build by the software.

Nuclear Power Plant Simulator
$9.95 - AE4RV.com
Nuclear Power Plant Simulator is a simulation game of nuclear power generation - see how much electricity you can generate without causing a meltdown! You will run the plant to it's limits but do not to push it too hard or warning lights will appear. Many things can go wrong if you are not careful. If you don't push the plant too hard it will not break down but your energy output and rating will be lower.
Addictive and educational, the Nuclear Power Plant Simulator is suitable for all ages. It includes an animated plant diagram which shows the reactor, the primary and secondary cooling loops, the heat exchanger, turbine, generator and cooling tower.
In the game you have a general purpose CRT screen showing all vital statistics as well as seperate temperature guages, controls and warning lights.
Fortunately this game is entirely safe. You will learn a lot about nuclear energy (and power plants in general) and have fun in the process. It looks really cool, too.
The demo version is free and does not expire but can only play 40 turns per game, which is plenty to cause a meltdown if you are not careful!

ComfortAir HVAC Software
$389 - Baltik Engineering
ComfortAir HVAC software is designed to be used by engineers, architects, contractors and energy auditors to calculate and analyse heating and air conditioning loads in all types of buildings. Input and output units can be set independently to English or Metric units. The program contains weather and other necessary data for 1,989 cities and localities in 163 countries, thus making it applicable for virtually any location in the world. Program output includes tables and graphs of cooling loads (load profiles) for all hours of the day and for all months. It also provides summary reports for peak conditions and a host of other useful information, such as reports and graphs of glass shading, from external shading devices like fins and overhangs. An example of how the hourly load tables can be useful, is in the design of thermal storage air conditioning systems, where ton-hour (kilowatt-hour) calculations have to be made in order to size the storage systems. The program is very user-friendly and it provides several useful wizards to make processes like data entry and U-value calculation easy to carry out and less prone to error and ommissions. Context sensitive Help illustrated by diagrams where appropriate, is provided at the click of a button. The program was developed as a multiple document interface (MDI), allowing the user to open and work on several projects simultaneously.

Reactor Balls
$0 - KSY Software
... Far away in space, an emergency occurred at a space station - a meteorite fell into the reactor. The reactor did not explode, but one by one the cooling rods began to break. You need to cool the energy control processor in hope that people can be evacuated. Now everything depends on you. Time does not wait!
The game "Reactor Balls" is a puzzle game that takes place in a period of time. It is similar to the famous game Lines, but the appearance of balls does not depend on the actions of the player and it occurs during a specific time. The rate of the balls appearing on the screen is constantly increased. The game is broken into a set of stages. Each stage is more complex than the previous, but between the stages the player is given a rest.

XRatel PerfMon OPC/DDE Server
$990 - XRatel Software
XRatel PerfMon OPC/DDE Server remotely monitors MS Windows computers using WMI technology, providing valuable information for system administrators to optimize the efficiency and setup of servers and workstations. XRatel PerfMon OPC/DDE Server can get from a computer more than 1 million different variables, including:
* many performance counters like disk usage, memory consumption and CPU load
* the Computer Health variable, which is calculated with the most important computer status parameters and expresses in just one value the overall computer performance
* hardware information, like cooling fan speed, CPU temperature and memory bank status
* operational system information, like running version, installed updates, registry entries and logged users
* application specific information, if it is available (depends on the application)
* user defined variables, allowing any customized expressions built with raw variables read from a specific computer
XRatel PerfMon OPC/DDE Server has been built using a multi-threaded core and an optimized data sampling algorithm, providing its high performance operation. Its integration with OPC or DDE clients is easy and fast and allows connectivity with SCADA, PIMS, ERP, HMIs, spreadsheets and more.

XRatel PerfMon OPC/DDE Server offers to users a flexible and reliable solution to monitor critical mission servers and workstations, even if you have a huge sized application or environment.

SI Ping
$0 - Pingram Software
Test communication with remote computer and check its online status over the Internet with free and visual Ping tool for Windows.
What did your mom do when you got sick being a kid? Most probably the first thing she did was giving you a thermometer to check your body heat. If you are trying to access a remote computer and are not getting a response, chances are that computer is not functioning properly. In other words, it might be sick. But how would you give a thermometer to that PC?
There is a free tool called ping.exe that comes with most versions of Windows. You can use this tool to poke the remote PC and check its response. To use ping.exe, you would typically invoke a command line, which would open a black console window, and type ping.exe followed with IP address of the computer you want to check. Usually you would get a response right in the console window in a matter of seconds. You would judge - or, rather, guess, - the remote computer's health by the cryptic numbers printed as decimal integers. If the remote computer is not available, or if the network is not available, or if some link or a piece of hardware in between you and the remote PC has failed, you'll get nothing. It is up to you to guess what and where have failed.
SI Ping, on the other hand, gives clearly legible and well formatted output by providing easy to understand and well explained numbers. It displays all the vital information, such as time to access the remote computer, in milliseconds, and allows you to ping more than one computer by simply selecting their address from a combo box. Thanks to its user-friendly, convenient user interface, SI Ping is much more convenient to use than the Windows ping.exe.
SoftInstitute releases well-designed, simple to use products that help computer users solve one particular problem. Our products are free, and typically perform just one task, such as ping, trace route, or lookup, but do it in a convenient manner.
