File Splitter is a tool that will split large file into pieces of any selected size and -- naturally -- with the same tool you can merge these pieces back into one large file.

One difference between this file splitter and other similar products is that here you can select the exact split point ? which is extremely useful when the split position does matter.

Other difference is the control over the merge (join) process (when you merge many pieces into one file) - along with the auto-merge functionality (which will auto-merge files produced by auto-splitter) you have other join options for specific situation (especially when you want to merge pieces produced by other splitter or if you want better control when merging text files) ...

The best example is also the best explanation of why I made this tool: I had a situation with splitting 70MB SQL dump files, because phpMyAdmin doesn?t accept so big files. But in this case we cannot split the long file on random place ? we must be sure that the sql commands will not be broken. In addition ? the windows standard Notepad isn?t good choice for large files ? in the case with 70MB txt file it just crashed. So ? I build this File Splitter for my own use, but then decided to publish it (with several useful additions) for everyone interested?

A floppy disk is often the only possible means for transferring the file, but if the file is larger than 1.44 megabytes, it won't fit on a single floppy.
