Easy Date Converter is a program to perform arithmetical operations with dates in various solar calendars, including the Gregorian and the ISO 8601 Week Calendar. It is a bilingual English/German program.

Suppose you run an advertisement which expires 45 days from today. What date will that be? How many weekdays are there in 2006? If you have an investment which matures on June 30th, 2007, how many days away is that? When will be (or was) the 10,000th day in your life? How many years, months and days until December 21st, 2012? If you find this sort of calculation a tad difficult then this program will make it easy.

Easy Date Converter provides four calendrical operations:

1. Calculation of the number of days from one date to another.
2. Addition of a number of days to a date and subtraction of a number of days from a date.
3. Interconversion among Gregorian (a.k.a. Common Era) dates, Julian Calendar dates, ISO 8601 Week Calendar dates,Hermetic Leap Week dates, ordinal dates in the form yyyy-ddd and Julian day numbers.
4. Display of a month in any year according to either the Common Era Calendar or the Julian Calendar, with additional display of corresponding ISO 8601 Calendar dates.

Weekend days may be included or excluded in date calculations.

There is a programming built-in programming language which allows users to run their own date-processing programs. It has control structures, variables and functions. It also supports user-defined functions, subroutines and the use of arrays.

Keywords Meta Tag Generator

In contrast to freeware keywords meta tag generators, which require *you* to select keywords, this program scans an HTML file, counting the number of occurrences of words and how they are used, and produces an appropriate keywords meta tag for the document. This can be inserted automatically into the file. The program ignores user-specified words and common words such as 'this', and the resulting keywords meta tag depends on user-specified weights assigned to boldface words, words within headings, etc. The program also ignores anything in the body of the file which is within HTML tags, within comments or within SCRIPT or STYLE tags so it can be used with HTML files which use cascading style sheets, have lots of embedded javascript or were generated by some WYSIWYG web page creator. The Prime Number Spiral (a.k.a. the Ulam Spiral) is constructed as follows: Consider a rectangular grid. We start with the central point and arrange the positive integers in a spiral fashion (anticlockwise). The prime numbers are then marked. There is a tendency for the prime numbers to occur on diagonal lines, however far out into the spiral one goes. This is software is for exploring the Prime Number Spiral. It also (a) allows coloring of the prime numbers in various ways, (b) displays a random arrangement to compare with the primes and (c) shows how square and triangular numbers are located on the spiral.

Chinese Calendrics

The Chinese Lunar Calendar is a solilunar calendar, consisting of months corresponding exactly to lunar cycles and years which stay more-or-less in sync with seasonal years. The structure of the calendar depends on the exact times of certain astronomical events, principally dark moons and winter solstices.

The solar calendar consists of a series of seasonal years which are divided into 24 "solar terms". The lunar calendar consists of a series of years which are divided into 12 or 13 lunar months. A solar year always begins at the (northern) winter solstice. A lunar month always begins on the day of a dark moon.

Chinese Calendrics is used to do the following:

To convert between dates in the Chinese solar and lunar calendars and dates in the Common Era and Julian calendars.
To calculate the date of New Year's Day in the Chinese lunar calendar.
To ascertain the Western dates of the starts of all lunar months in a year in the lunar calendar.
To find leap months in the lunar calendar.
To find the Western dates corresponding to Chinese anniversaries (e.g., birthdays).
To move forward or backward from a given date (and time) either by a period such as a month (Western or Chinese) or by any number of days.
