PassMark SoundCheck is a Windows based application that allows users to test their PC sound card, speakers and microphone. Verify that your sound card can record and playback sounds at various audio sample rates.
Award winning, easy-to-use benchmarking software for Windows. It tests all of the computer's subsystems and provides benchmarked comparisons between the test PC and other standard baselines downloadable from the PassMark website.
DiskCheckup measures the performance and 'health' of your S.M.A.R.T. enabled hard disk drive. It can track attribute changes over time and 'predict' the date at which your HDD will fail.It can be command line driven and will also send alerts by email
BurnInTest is an easy to use software tool that simultaneously exercises the major components of a computer, to test for endurance and reliability. Tests include CPU, RAM, Disk, Video, CD, DVD, Printer, Sound, Network and video playback.

BurnInTest Pro
$49 - PassMark Software
BurnInTest is a software tool that simultaneously exercises all of the major components of a computer, to test for endurance and reliability. The user can select the hardware components to test and individually adjust the load placed on each one via slide bars. Each test reports results to its own window and results are summarised along with any errors detected in the main program window. CPU, hard drives, CD ROM, CD burner, DVD, sound card, 2D graphics, 3D graphics, memory, network connection, serial ports, parallel port, USB ports, tape drive, video playback, printer or customer developed plug-in tests can all be tested at the same time. Results can be saved to disk, printed or exported as a graphical image. Other features include periodic logging, a temperature monitoring interface, timed test runs, the display of system information such as the CPU serial number, CPU speed and L2 cache size. BurnInTest is also available with serial, parallel and USB loopback plugs and has comprehensive on line help. There are also the more advanced features of EMC testing to ANSI C63.4-1992, RAM testing to 64GB and cyclic rebooting. Society's reliance on computers means that the cost of hardware failure can be enormous. BurnInTest thoroughly exercises PC hardware in the shortest period of time so intermittent or hidden problems are found before they turn into a disaster. BurnInTest is suited to computer enthusiasts, hardware manufacturers, systems integrators and 'overclockers' who want to cost effectively evaluate their systems.

BatteryMon
$24 - PassMark Software
Batteries, given their chemical nature, are prone to wear, corrosion, leakage and outright failure due to events like short circuits and lightning strikes. Given their propensity to fail and to have decreased performance over time, it is important to be able to identify and monitor their performance. With BatteryMon, monitoring the state of your battery has never been easier.
BatteryMon is an easy to use Windows program that allows the monitoring of laptop computer batteries and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS). Graphically see the battery charge / discharge rate, diagnose problem battery cells, compare your batteries performance with expected discharge rates and see the status of each individual battery pack (when multiple batteries are in use). Batteries and BIOS must comply with the Windows, Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) specification in order for BatteryMon to work correctly. More than 20 statistics are provided including voltage levels, battery chemistry, full capacity level, current capacity, bias settings, device names and serial numbers. A log file is maintained of the battery charge level and other statistics for later analysis and the software comes with a comprehensive help file.

KeyboardTest
$24 - PassMark Software
KeyboardTest is an easy to use Windows based application that allows users to quickly check that all the keys on their computer keyboard are functioning correctly and look at the internal scan codes being generated by the keyboard. The down and up stroke of each key is registered and highlighted on a graphical image of a keyboard. Each time a key is pressed a variety of state information is updated in the window. Although desktop keyboards can be quickly and cheaply replaced, this is not the case for laptop computers where the keyboard is integrated into the computer itself. The failure of even a single key on a laptop computer can render the entire machine useless. Keyboard test includes a comprehensive help file and language independent testing by using BIOS scan codes.

ModemTest
$15 - PassMark Software
ModemTest is an easy to use Windows based application that allows users to test their dial up modem. ModemTest performs low level testing that is independent of your Internet Service Provider (ISP) and the TCP/IP settings on the computer. It allows the modem to be tested in addition to the phone line the modem is connected to. ModemTest provides a method for system integrators and computer repair centers to test both internal and external modems. By a process of elimination, home users can also use the ModemTest to help isolate Internet connection problems to a faulty modem, or phone line or their ISP service. ModemTest logs any data corruption and incorporates a modem speed test which reports the initial connection speed and the actual throughput.
Two different test methods are provided. The first test method uses two telephone lines and two modems in a master / slave configuration. The master dials the phone number of the slave modem and after a successful connection, data packets are exchanged between the master and slave. The second test method requires only a single modem and no telephone line. A local loop back is done on the analog side of the modem, ModemTest then sends data packets which are echoed back by the modem. In both cases ModemTest communicates to the modem using a COM port. (In the case of Internal modems or USB modems, this is a virtual COM port and not a physical plug on the machine).
Modem Test allows the sending of specific data files allowing compliance to specific standards, for instance ITU-T v.56.
Before sending any data, ModemTest first checks the settings on the serial port and then on the modem itself. Any data received is verified to be sure that it is complete and without errors. A log of the activity is kept in the right hand section of the window. Different types of activities are highlighted in different colors. Any errors are displayed in red. This log can be saved to disk if required.

MonitorTest
$24 - PassMark Software
MonitorTest is a tool that allows users to investigate the quality and performance of their computer monitor or LCD flat panel screens. With more people spending more time in front of computer monitors it is important to purchase a quality monitor that will provide crisp, bright images, while reducing the strain on your eyes. MonitorTest displays a series of specially designed images on the screen at a variety of different resolutions and color depths to test for optimum visual performance. Each of the 25 different test screens have been created to test a particular aspect of the monitors performance. As a monitor is often the most expensive part of a computer system, this type of testing is essential for the adjustment & selection of a quality monitor. Users would include computer repair centers, system integrators, quality assurance personnel, graphic designers and anyone that cares about the quality of their monitor. MonitorTest runs in Windows and will work at any resolution, aspect ratio and color depth supported by your monitor and graphics card. Users with multi-monitor configurations can test all monitors simultaneously.

WirelessMon
$49 - PassMark Software
WirelessMon 2.0 enables a person to detect and monitor Access Points (AP) on any wireless (WiFi) networks within range. The program provides substantial information regarding each SSID it locates including whether the AP is secure (or not) and its availability for use.
A live 'channel usage' chart provides information on the level of traffic for each available channel. This information will assist network managers by indicating channels that could be used to reduce interference and improve throughput.
Users of the Professional Edition will have the additional bonus of being able to generate 'coverage maps' based upon the signal strength of all detected APs. To use this function, users need to import a map created by an another application (e.g. scanning). Once the map is loaded, users can either plot points manually on the map, or use a Global Positioning System (GPS) device. If done manually, the user selects a point on the map and the program automatically stores information on every AP it can detect there. GPS users need to establish two reference points, then they can leave it to the program to detect their location on the map and store the AP information for each point.
Network managers, laptop users and wardrivers will all find WirelessMon 2.0 to be the perfect tool for their wireless network requirements.
