OBJ Import for Solid Edge
$195 - SYCODE
OBJ Import for Solid Edge is a Wavefront (.obj) file import add-in for Solid Edge®. This plug-in gives Solid Edge the ability to import geometric data from OBJ files.
OBJ Import for Solid Edge reads polygon mesh data stored in OBJ files and imports it into Solid Edge. A polygon mesh in an OBJ file is comprised of a set of triangular and/or quad faces. OBJ Import for Solid Edge creates trimmed planar surfaces for each triangle/quad and knits them together to create a body. If the polygon mesh is closed (i.e. it does not contain boundary edges) then OBJ Import for Solid Edge will create a closed body feature, otherwise an open surface will be created.
OBJ Import for Solid Edge is very easy to use. Once installed, it automatically loads itself into Solid Edge and adds a new submenu called "OBJ Import for Solid Edge" to the Solid Edge Applications menu.
The 'OBJ Import for Solid Edge' menu consists of the following commands:
# Import - Import an OBJ file
# Help - Display the OBJ Import for Solid Edge help file
# Register - Register your copy of OBJ Import for Solid Edge
# About - Display the OBJ Import for Solid Edge About box
OBJ Import for Solid Edge comes with detailed documentation for each command as well as a tutorial to get you started in the shortest possible time.
The OBJ File Format
The OBJ file format is a geometry definition file format first developed by Wavefront Technologies for its Advanced Visualizer animation package. The file format is open and has been adopted by other 3D graphics application vendors, making it a universally accepted geometry file format. The OBJ file format is a simple data format that represents 3D geometry alone - namely, the position of each vertex, the texture coordinate associated with a vertex, the normal at each vertex, and the faces that make each polygon.

STL Import for Solid Edge
$195 - SYCODE
STL Import for Solid Edge is a Stereolithography (.stl) file import add-in for Solid Edge®. This plug-in gives Solid Edge the ability to import geometric data from ASCII and Binary STL files.
STL Import for Solid Edge reads polygon mesh data stored in STL files and imports it into Solid Edge. A polygon mesh in a STL file is comprised of a set of triangular faces. STL Import for Solid Edge creates trimmed planar surfaces for each triangle/quad and knits them together to create a body. If the polygon mesh is closed (i.e. it does not contain boundary edges) then STL Import for Solid Edge will create a closed body feature, otherwise an open surface will be created.
STL Import for Solid Edge is very easy to use. Once installed, it automatically loads itself into Solid Edge and adds a new submenu called "STL Import for Solid Edge" to the Solid Edge Applications menu.
The 'STL Import for Solid Edge' menu consists of the following commands:
# Import - Import a STL file
# Help - Display the STL Import for Solid Edge help file
# Register - Register your copy of STL Import for Solid Edge
# About - Display the STL Import for Solid Edge About box
STL Import for Solid Edge comes with detailed documentation for each command as well as a tutorial to get you started in the shortest possible time.
The STL File Format
The STL file format is the Rapid Prototyping industry's standard data transmission format and is the format required to interact with stereolithography machines. Stereolithography files contain solids which are made up of 3 sided facets. STL files may be ASCII or binary data, although binary is far more common due to the resulting size of the CAD data when saved to the ASCII format. A STL file describes a raw unstructured triangulated surface by the unit normal and vertices (ordered by the right-hand rule) of the triangles using a three-dimensional Cartesian coordinate system.

3DS Import for Solid Edge
$195 - SYCODE
3DS Import for Solid Edge is a 3D Studio (.3ds) file import add-in for Solid Edge®. This plug-in gives Solid Edge the ability to import geometric data from 3DS files.
3DS Import for Solid Edge reads polygon mesh data stored in 3DS files and imports it into Solid Edge. A polygon mesh in a 3DS file is comprised of a set of triangular faces. 3DS Import for Solid Edge creates trimmed planar surfaces for each triangular face and knits them together to create a body. If the polygon mesh is closed (i.e. it does not contain boundary edges) then 3DS Import for Solid Edge will create a closed body feature, otherwise an open surface will be created.
3DS Import for Solid Edge is very easy to use. Once installed, it automatically loads itself into Solid Edge and adds a new submenu called "3DS Import for Solid Edge" to the Solid Edge Applications menu.
The '3DS Import for Solid Edge' menu consists of the following commands:
# Import - Import a 3DS file
# Help - Display the 3DS Import for Solid Edge help file
# Register - Register your copy of 3DS Import for Solid Edge
# About - Display the 3DS Import for Solid Edge About box
3DS Import for Solid Edge comes with detailed documentation for each command as well as a tutorial to get you started in the shortest possible time.
The 3DS File Format
The 3DS file format is the native file format of 3D Studio. 3D Studio has now been replaced by 3ds Max whose native file format has a .max file extension. However, 3ds Max is still able to read and write .3ds files. 3ds Max is one of the most widely-used off the shelf 3D animation programs. It has strong modeling capabilities, a flexible plug-in architecture and a long heritage on the Microsoft Windows platform. It is mostly used by video game developers, TV commercial studios and architectural visualization studios. It is also used for movie effects and movie pre-visualization.

PIX Import for SolidWorks
$195 - SYCODE
PIX Import for SolidWorks is a Dr. Picza (.pix) file import add-in for SolidWorks®. This add-in gives SolidWorks the ability to import geometric data from PIX files.
PIX Import for SolidWorks reads surface and polygon mesh data stored in PIX files and imports it into SolidWorks. If the PIX file contains a scan of a surface PIX Import for SolidWorks creates a single trimmed surface describing the scanned surface. This surface can be converted into a solid by giving it a thickness. If the PIX file contains the scan information in the form of a polygon mesh PIX Import for SolidWorks creates a body describing the object that was scanned. A polygon mesh in a PIX file is comprised of a set of quad faces. PIX Import for SolidWorks creates trimmed planar surfaces for each quad and knits them together to create a body. If the polygon mesh is closed (i.e. it does not contain boundary edges) then PIX Import for SolidWorks will create a closed body feature, otherwise an open surface will be created.
PIX Import for SolidWorks is very easy to use as it adds new commands to SolidWorks. It also adds a submenu to the SolidWorks menu called "PIXImport".
The 'PIXImport' submenu consists of the following commands:
# Import - Import a PIX file
# Help - Display the PIX Import for SolidWorks help file
# Register - Register your copy of PIX Import for SolidWorks
# About - Display the PIX Import for SolidWorks About box
PIX Import for SolidWorks comes with detailed documentation for each command as well as a tutorial to get you started in the shortest possible time.
The PIX File Format
The PIX file format is the native file format of a digitizer software called Dr. Picza which comes bundled with Roland DG digitizers. The digitizer scans an object and transfers the 3D point data to the Dr. Picza software which saves it in the PIX file format. PIX files can contain scan data in two formats: surface and polygon mesh.
